These costumes were made by Annette Hildebrand from Stiltlife. After getting in touch with the kind people from Dutchband, who introduced us to their Drome lights, we decided that we wanted to do something with their technology. We mounted hundreds of these wireless controlled Drome lights on two hand made costumes, known as the Guide of Light and the Child of Light.
The helmet and hat of these costumes hold the control system running on a Raspberry Pi. A GPS receiver is connected to the Raspberry to allow light effects to change depending on your location. These prerecorded effects are played back when you enter a set area and can be overruled by manual triggers.
All custom software was written by my good friend Brian Reardon from Sneltec.
